for the love of dogs
For more than 15 years, Kate has dedicated her life to animal care through veterinary nursing, rescue, rehabilitation and community support. Her passion for helping dogs has been shaped by her own companions, Benny, Mama and Dillon, whose journeys inspired her to create something more for dogs and their families.
Living and working in the Northern Rivers as a vet nurse in multiple clinics for the past 10yrs, Kate often saw how limited rehabilitation options were for dogs recovering from injury, disease, surgery, managing mobility conditions or simply growing older. From this, Sun Dog Hydrotherapy & Rehabilitation was born—a place where dogs could receive compassionate, personalised care to help them stay active, comfortable and enjoy life for as long as possible. A supportive place for pet guardians to feel informed, understood and empowered when their pet’s life changes — knowing there are always more options to explore.
With qualifications in Veterinary Nursing, Bowen Therapy, Canine Myofunctional Therapy, Dry Needling & Hydrotherapy, Kate combines evidence-informed rehabilitation with a holistic approach that focuses on movement, comfort and quality of life. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual dog, with the goal of supporting not only recovery, but lifelong wellbeing.
Kate’s life truly revolves around animals, and one of her greatest joys is being part of the local dog community, where she's built many lasting friendships with both dogs and their people.
